SocialPioneers™ is the Social Transformation Agency for government and civil society.

Navigating with Vision

SocialPioneers™ brings together foremost authorities in public service policy, planning, implementation and reform with specialists in social investment, leadership development, diversity, community development and business transformation. We offer this dynamic blend of expertise and collaborative partnership to leaders and organisations that are pathfinding new ways of achieving a flourishing global society.

Bill Mather and Margrit Bass founded Social Pioneers Ltd (SocialPioneers™) in 2009, having identified a critical need in the UK and internationally for an organisation specifically designed to support leaders of social change. SocialPioneers was formed as a Development Agency rather than as a consultancy business in order to fulfil this agenda and address the particular needs of government Ministers, top civil servants, public service commissioners, and civil society organisations grappling with the dual task of meeting sharp cuts in public expenditure and growing demands for essential public services.

SocialPioneers has established a unique pool of experts to make available the highest level of practical international experience extending from national policy making to front-line service delivery. This resource represents a wealth of complementary disciplines and can be deployed individually or in teams, working on a consultancy or interim basis.

Responsibility for the strategic direction and development of the business rests with our Board of Directors who steward the mission with personal and professional dedication.
